Some spouses are tempted to believe the grass is greener on the other side of the fence. They believe there is more love, romance or sexual thrills to be found with another partner. The problem with this mistaken notion is that it’s completely fantasy not reality. It’s a lie; not the truth.
Author Neil Anderson says, “The only tools that Satan has are accusation, deception, and temptation.”
Satan is trying a hat trick to lure and capture you with the Greener Grass Syndrome.
Did anyone ever tell you, “She (your wife) might not be a “10” but neither are you?”
While a new partner can offer a temporary high of infatuation, the same heart problems will soon resurface. Your selfishness, unresolved inner pain, and wrong thinking will soon create the same frustrations. The antidote to the greener grass syndrome is godly contentment. Godly contentment is produced by thankfulness, humility, and realistic (righteous) thinking.
Sometimes freedom presents itself as liberation when in fact it’s bondage.
“But godliness with contentment is great gain.” 1 Timothy 6:6
“But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality or of any kind of impurity…because these are improper for God’s holy people.” Ephesians 5:3
